And finally, Bobo: The Broncos could Easily Be 0-3. magic kick vs. Buffalo, Cheat tactics vs. Oakland (real late TO), and getting gobbled up by the Jaguars. I'd be concerned.

And the Patriots could easily be 0-3 in super bowls if, they didn't cheat. And Martina could easily have won 2 slams this year, if she didn't get injured. And the Tigers would make the playoffs if they won more games. See where I'm going with this! tongue.gif Shoulda, coulda, woulda, and $2.00 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks!

There was no magic kick. It's called great execution. The Broncos' field goal unit practice that play alot.
And cheat tactics? What rule did the Broncos' violate? I think great coaching is a more accurate description of what occured in the Oakland game. biggrin.gif

Ooops, touchy subject...sorry, Bobo. Get ready for the four game slide for the Broncs, it has already begun. (@Indy, SD, Pitt). 2-4 won't earn a wildcard berth. tongue.gif How can you call Shanahan's late TO 'great coaching?'. If that FG attempt had sailed wide right, but Denv had already taken a TO, to nullify the play. And then next kick, splits the uprights, you'd call him a micro-managing fool. That's called 50/50 luck. PS- I look forward to a seven game battle with your pinstripes...Manny seems to be fine, and JD is heating up. Portentous happenings. cool.gif

Actually Red Sox/Pats fans refer to Drew Bledsoe as Nancy. But savvy Sox fans recognize that JD's OBP is up to .369, and hit over .333 with Manny on the sidelines for a while. He will be Boston's (top wink.gif ) secret weapon in the Bronx, with that short porch in right. "the sweet-swinging Drew" shall show up en Octubre. tongue.gif quick jump back to the NFL: so many RB injuries in week 3, wow!

NASN is the North American Sports Network: the European Network for North American Sports (as they say it, anyway) smile.gif Every weekend they show 3 matches in a row and the following day repeats of matches that haven't been shown yet. They also show the monday night match live, which naturally means Pats vs Bengals next weekend!

Packers are 3-0 and Brett Favre tied Dan Marino's record of most TD passes.

It's nice he'll brake it because a QB who never won a SuperBowl doesn't deserve to hold any respectable record. Go Brett!!! Go Packers!!!

I knew this thread would find it's following. smile.gif

Good Evening Gentlemen, Here we go.

Robert: You're like a brother but what the hey? Neither the Yankees nor the Broncos have won anything, yet. Of the two, this year. I would have to say the Yankees have the better shot so you can still cheer for your childhood idols cuz the Footballers aint' doing it this year, mate. lol. Jay Cutler has a long way to go. He's lucky to have Shanahan and the Denver community. But it is a big boy's league.

( Let's not forget how the Tigers made the Yankees look like Minor Leaguers, alright? )

Micheal: Portentous? Nice, vocab. Bravo, amigo. For what it's worth, the scandal did nothing but further inspire your team to possibly join Shula in the books of hallowed records. I wouldn't want to play New England till this whole thing died down. Yet, in the NFL. Anybody can beat Anybody at any time. Gotta watch out for Cinci coming up, pal. With due respect to Randy Moss. T.J. ( CIN ) is faster tho Moss more precise. Further " Ocho Cinco " is a true Scoring / Possession WR. Rare. Moss can't do that without getting his bell rung. To NE's credit. Brady is arguably the best big game player in the NFL. So, who's to say?

Garf: Thanks for explaining what NASN is all about. Pretty cool. So basically, Europeans that watch Monday Night Football have to deal with broken sleep that night. lol. Good Luck, gainst Pats. I look for some Super Star plays from who would have guessed it?.............. The WR's.

Piero: Well, Sir. I must proclaim my respect for Brett Favre despite my preference for the Cowboys. Long season to go. Didn't realize you had a mean streak when it came to discussing Dan Marino. But, whatever... lol. I always felt he got too much credit in the USA for his football exploits. Mainly, tho. I feel that adoration comes from the Women of the East Coast. The player really wasn't all, that.

Mike,

( Monday Night Football on ESPN ) Oct 1, 2007

For the Patriots and Bengals tonight. Some fireworks for offensive units. All big name receivers get a TD, tonight.

I'll take N.E. - 8

Q: What do Rutherford and Favre have in common? A: They are both 4-0 on the season. Now I realize why Favre was so upset that the Packers didn't acquire Randy Moss; he knew he had a good thing going this season. Would be a great NFC title game: Packers/Cowboys. Hopefully on the hallowed ground that is Lambeau.

Hello, NFL Fans.

Michael: Thanks, mate. I am 4-0. Thing of it is, I stated that all the big name receivers would catch at TD pass. I was wrong. If we operate on the premise that the big name WR's in that game were R. Moss ( NE ), TJ. Houshmanzdeh and C. Johnson ( CIN ) They all caught one except Ocho Cinco. lol. Maybe, Randy Moss can give him one of his 2 TD's and fulfull my prediction.

Mike, you and I will have some fun when the Boys and the Pats lace em up. There are many subplots to that Shakespearean play. The QB's. The WR's. The Defensives Units. The Coaches. One is America's
Svengali. One is a temp @ being America's coach. The Owners. The Regions. Ahhhh, let's get ready to Rumble.... lol.

We'll see about that " Ice Bowl. "

Garf: Actually, the Bengals are not that bad. I know it's little consolation to a True Fan like yourself but let's take into consideration the Patriots have a playing " edge " right now which might work towards the Leagues favor later on. i.e. It's only Human nature to lose the edge at some point. The Regular Season is long and the playoffs only add to the journey. Maybe, it's best the Pats get hot, now. The Bengals are a fine team with Defensive issues. Luckily, Marvin Lewis has a Defensive background in coaching schemes and strategy. I haven't looked at your teams books, Garf. But, I suspect quite a bit of salary is being used to keep the Big 3 Offensive players on staff.

So keep the faith, mate. ( For the Record, the Bengals core Offensive players do have the ability to beat all the AFC elite teams and claim a title. When that happens and what comes about to make it so is all up for discussion. ) They are not so different from the recent incarnations of the Colts, after all.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here is R's pick of the week for Monday Night Football on October 8, 2007.

Dallas Cowboys @ the Buffalo Bills. DAL - 9

D finally has the talent and the leadership to use innovative Offense, effectively. Nice to see Upstate New York on TV, though. Maybe, a rebirth of Buffalo football will result from tonight.

Enjoy,

R

Bills vs Cowboys.......hands down the craziest ending to a match I ever saw. It's unbelievable how much faith Tony Romo must have in himself, throwing 5 picks and fumbling once and still maintaining the nerve to take his team down the field and scrape out a win. The onside kick they had near the end was also played out to perfection, exactly travelling over 10 yards and then getting their hands on it. Somehow you could just feel that the Cowboys just weren't gonna lose this, no matter what the Bills did. For the Bills it'll be most important to put this win in a proper perspective, focusing on what they did right instead of feeling the pain for going so close.

Personally, I see Cowboys vs Pats in the Superbowl.

Hello, Mike, Garf, Piero and all NFL Fans. What's up, Men?

Mike: You're probably getting organized for the AL Pennant, good luck to Beantown. And make sure you welcome K.G. to the new...... Boston Garden.

Garf: Did you like that game ? smile.gif

All of you in Europe that stayed up late for MNF are voracious Fans.

As for the game, it was twisted with Romo's mishaps but I agree with your closing statement. Viewers actually saw with their own eyes that Buffalo could not put the Nail in the coffin. Subsequently, the Cowboys rose from the grave and shot the Bills before dusk. lol.... ( Twice, if you noticed the kicker's heroics times two. )

Dude, I hate the " en vogue " timeouts before decisive game ending field goals.

Bronco's Coach Shanahan started the trend and now every yahoo from coast to coast who can't do his job and put a team away is doing the same thing. I can understand Shanahan doing it. He's actually won 2 championships under pressure. Others, simply follow the trend and masquerade around the US as Head Coaches. This rule will change, I promise.

Ok, here's a link to Terrell Owens and Randy Moss refusing to add fuel to the fire for the Sunday Match up. Finally, interested parties may care to know that I like Dallas for this.

Naturally, so.

Patriots vs. Cowboys !

MNF was one for the ages. It's like Jim Valvano said, "don't give up, don't ever give up". If you told me that a road team on MNF would throw 5 INTs, and lose a fumble, thus combining for 6 turnovers; and have two of their INTs returned for TDs; and tell me that this ROAD team would win....I would say "name the odds and the wager." Tony Romo really percervered through an ugly game, and brought the goods at the end. Three cheers for Romo, and three cheers for the on-side kick unit, and K.
As for this weekend's battle of unbeaten goliaths, the line opened at Pats -4...and has crept up to NE -5 1/2. I have a good feeling that NE wins by a TD, give me NE -5 1/2. The other "lock" of the week (j/k, my gambling prowess is not to be feared) is Cincy -3 at KC. Cincy wins by two TDs. Also, interesting Sunday night matchup with the Saints going into Seattle, where they desperately need a win...wake up the saints. huh.gif

NFL Fans, good evening from the Great Lakes.

Mike: I'll take Dallas - 4 over New England. It will play out similarly to the AFC title game, last year. Very heady, cerebral Pats controlling 2 of 3 phases in the first half. Dallas playing Cardiac Kids in the 2nd half. Dallas takes the Win. A call or two going the Cowboys way.

Side Bet: Brady loses his cool after regulation and sounds off in the Post Game Interviews. New England's Defense loses it's effectiveness entirely by the 4th Qtr.

To the Strongest,

Rutherford

Newsflash: New England is pretty good. lol.

New England Defeats Dallas 48-27.

Cowboys take a brief lead 24-21 at the opening of the 3rd Qtr. New England shows their mettle and march down the field multiple times thereafter to leave no doubt who the Best Team is.

Yuck, I was cheering for the Cowboys but I can appreciate a Great Team when I see one.

Congrats, Mike. Good Luck to your Red Sox the rest of the Way,

In seven years, I've seen the Terrific One lose his cool only once in post game interviews. It was last year when the Dolphins shut 'em out 12-0. A reporter asked if the Fins had the Pats figured out. Brady snapped back, with venom, "we're 9-3, they're 2-9, who do you think has it figured out". Anyway, no loss of composure by Terrifica, just a personal record of 5 TD passes w/ 0 picks, and ~67 % completion percentage. America's Team shot themselves in the foot with 13 penalties I think. As for NE Def losing its effectiveness by 4th qtr, I don't think they gave up any more pts after Dallas took the lead early in the 3rd qtr. Would 4 SBs in 7 yrs be considered a dynasty? Me thinks so. cool.gif ps-I don't mean to pile on, Ruther, I did read your post after the game had finished, but I just couldn't help myself. wink.gif
