Ihr Auserwählter: der Zürcher Anwalt Andreas Bieri (38), mit dem sie schon seit einem Jahr ein perfektes Liebes-Doppel spielt.Nun soll die Liebe zwischen den beiden plötzlich erloschen sein. Ihrem engsten Umfeld hat Martina Hingis anvertraut, dass sie die Verlobung mit Andreas Bieri aufgelöst habe. Das angebliche Beziehungs-Aus ist eine totale Überraschung!Dabei hat alles so schön angefangen. Die einstige Schweizer Tenniskönigin hat dem SonntagsBlick nur wenige Tage nach der Verlobung das allererste Liebesinterview gegeben.Glücklich und stolz erzählte sie, wie sie den Heiratsantrag von ihrem Andi erhalten hatte. «Das war im letzten Dezember, kurz vor Weihnachten. Ein kalter Wintertag. Ich fühlte mich kränklich. Wir waren zu Hause, haben abends fein gegessen, dann gingen wir zu Bett. Kurz vor dem Einschlafen hat mich Andi gefragt, ob ich seine Frau werden will. Es war so romantisch», schwelgte Martina Hingis. Seinen Antrag habe sie sofort angenommen. Obwohl: «Erst dachte ich, ob ich wohl schon schlafe und es nur ein Traum ist. Aber als ich den wunderschönen Ring am Finger hatte, war mir klar, dass ich nicht träume.»Andi, wie sie ihn nennt, schien ihr Prinz zu sein. Und sie dachte sogar schon ans Gründen einer Familie mit dem schönen Anwalt: «Ich möchte auf jeden Fall ein Baby.» Weiter schwärmte sie: «Ich bin glücklich wie nie. Mit Andi erlebe ich sehr schöne Zeiten. Es ging mir privat nie besser. Zwischen Andi und mir passts einfach.»Zugleich räumte Martina Hingis aber auch ein, dass ihre Beziehung ein Spagat sei. Andi hätte es nicht so mit Pferden, sie hingegen ist eine leidenschaftliche Reiterin. Als Anwalt hält Bieri sich gerne diskret zurück, Hingis anderseits ist eine Person, die sich in der Öffentlichkeit seit Jahrzehnten wohl-fühlt.Ist ihr dieser Spagat zu weit geworden? Kurz nach Bekanntgabe ihrer Verlobung entschwand unsere ehemalige Tenniskönigin für drei Wochen nach Frankreich an ein Reitturnier. Certainly it would be nice to read some English explanation of the break-up, I'm just guessing that if I were in Andy's shoes and my girlfriend accepted a marriage proposal then turned around and gave me a long list of "things" she was going to be engaged in (pardon the pun) for the rest of the year...I'd be very disappointed...Martina you can't have it both ways...either you commit to a marriage or not...and her long standing reputation of "opting out" must have won over. Sad! Lois

That's why I'd never want to become her boyfriend ! She has "used" too much boyfriends in her life. A very good friendship with her will make me delighted but I only am dreaming here anyway If she isn't ready for the big stuff, she has to think much better before saying " YES " ... Bet he musts be devastated.

No explanation in any of the articles quoted here, mere hypotheses. The break up is not official, if I understand well she would have broken and told it to close friends, but neither Bieri nor Mario confirmed.They didn't meet in the last three weeks.Chrischan, you were right!

When it comes to "The Princess" who can say! Well, who other than about 47 other boy friends.However, IMO, I'd say that It's about as difficult to set Martina off, as pulling a greased pin on a hand grenade. I dunno... ladies would have to say, really, it's difficult for a straight guy to know.... he was successful, wealthy, young(ish), so why was he single? Maybe he's boring? If he was worth her time she'd have stolen him from another woman, but she didn't need to. In my view, 'Mr Hingis' needs to be a prize, a trophy husband, y'know?
